Patrin is an upcoming artist, born and raised in Harlesden, North West London. Already from a young age he started rapping at school but stopped again after a short period only to find himself writing books and books of verses and poems years later which then motivated him to get back into making music again.
Listening to a wide array of artists such as old school legends Lauryn Hill and Tupac and more contemporary artists like Lupe Fiasco, Kendrick Lamar and DVS as well as UK artists Bashy, BBK and Wretch 32, Patrin draws influence from a variety of sounds which is strongly recognisable in his songs.
Lyrically however, he gets inspired by his environment and surroundings day to day:
“I’m deeply inspired by people who aren’t in the public eye like there’s a homeless man I always see at the train station, he’s one of the most wisest persons I’ve met, people with less (materialistically) often inspire me”
Last year he released his highly anticipated mixtape Time Will Tell which got championed by several regional radio stations and platforms such as Pulse88, Unsigned Music Awards and LinkUp TV.
The project, consisting of 12 songs in total, is a thoroughly well-curated debut mixtape which not only showcases Patrin’s outstanding lyricism but also proves his ability of an effortless rap flow and singing skills, underpinned by rather melodic sounds.
To this date Patrin could see himself performing at various stages in London, including Finborough Arms and Ritzy Cinema Brixton, and collaborating with the likes of Edward A, Hemingway or Carmy Love. His recent achievements are a freestyle on YouTube’s infamous channel BL@CKBOX and a storytelling music video to his recent single Blinded By Love.
This year will see another mixtape from the artist, as well as several more shows – including a headline show with a full live band on April 14th at the Finborough Arms in Earls Court.
