Here’s some decent UK Rap for you, brought to you by IYKZ. The other day the North London-based rapper has dropped his new banger Kilo, the follow-up of his Maleek Berry featured hit They Know (Wan Mo) which garnered over 200,000 streams on Spotify already.

For Kilo, IYKZ has teamed up with producer BZGD and Superdertie (A$AP Rocky, Mac Miller, Lily Allen) for the final mixing. The result? A trap-infused, bass-heavy anthem with a vividly melodious and catchy chorus. The rapper shows off his authentic rap flow by delivering energetic, rapid bars – but also reveals his singing skills!

“‘Kilo’ takes me back to the hackney streets I grew up in”, IYKZ explains. “It’s the ultimate underdog anthem. Against all odds I’ve made something of myself with the aim to go back and show everyone what I’ve become, hence shooting the video on my old block. I do this for them.”  – IYKZ

The accompanied visuals, directed by Ashleigh Jadee (Big Sean, Skepta), were shot in Hackney’s King Crescent Estate where the gifted rapper was raised. It illustrates the artist’s humble beginnings and is intended to be an inspiration for those still living in the neighbourhood.
Several other familiar locations were filmed as well, popular barbershop and celeb hotspot D&L being one of them. Watch the music video below:
